Amer Sheikh

Amer Sheikh joined Novo Holdings Seed Investments in January 2026 as a Partner, where he leads Novo Holdings’ dedicated Quantum Technologies investment strategy. His focus includes quantum computing and sensing, advanced computing, and enabling software and infrastructure, with an emphasis on technologies that have the potential to deliver long-term scientific, industrial and societal impact.

Amer brings over a decade of global investment experience across venture capital, growth equity and corporate venture investing, spanning Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia. Prior to joining Novo Holdings, he was an Investment Director at HSBC Ventures, with responsibility for leading the firm’s Quantum and Deep Tech investment themes across quantum technologies, advanced computing, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. He previously held senior investment roles at Sky Ventures and Centrica Ventures, where he played a key role in building and managing international portfolios across enterprise software, deep technology, climate and sustainability.

Amer has served as a board director and observer for several high-growth technology companies, supporting management teams on strategy, scaling and governance. He holds a PhD in Physics from Loughborough University and the Institut Laue Langevin and a BSc (Hons) in Physics.
