Marie Schroeder joined Seed Investments in 2023.
Marie holds several board positions and is focused on early-stage investments, particularly in the cardiometabolic space. She has 10+ years of experience as a scientist in cardiometabolic diseases, in both the pharmaceutical industry and academia. Most recently, Marie was a principal scientist in cardiovascular diseases at Novo Nordisk. She contributed to strategic development of the therapeutic area and managed multiple projects within the internal pre-clinical pipeline, from ideation stage to approaching development candidate nomination. Further, Marie was a key driver of multiple external partnerships with academia and industry.
Marie has a DPhil from the University of Oxford (Lincoln College), a bachelor’s degree in biomedical and electrical engineering from Duke University, and she is a Fulbright scholar. Her academic research focused on advanced MRI techniques for cardiometabolic imaging; her work was funded via fellowships from Oxford, the Wellcome Trust and the NIH.
