Sophia Heyde

Sophia is a Vice President at Novo Holdings A/S in the Planetary Health Investments team. She has worked across the full investment lifecycle since joining the firm in October 2022, with investment experience spanning early-stage venture and late-stage buyout transactions. She also serves on the Boards of Directors of several portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Novo Holdings, Sophia was Scientific Project Manager at the bio-industrial start-up Again Bio, where she was responsible for advancing R&D activities and coordinating a large carbon capture scale-up project. Earlier in her career, she focused on translating academic science into innovation and co-founded a sustainability initiative.

Sophia holds a PhD in Metabolic Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark. Her academic work was carried out in collaboration with leading international research institutes and industry partners, including Novozymes, the Joint BioEnergy Institute, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, UNSW Sydney, the University of Oxford, and the Technical University of Darmstadt.
