Sophia Heyde

Sophia joined Novo Holdings A/S in October 2022 as an Associate in the Planetary Health Investments team.

Before joining Novo Holdings, Sophia was Scientific Project Manager at the bio-industrial startup company SecondCircle, where she was involved in both driving the companies R&D as well as the coordination of a large EU project aiming to demonstrate economic viability of a novel carbon capture process. During her postdoc, Sophia worked on the translation of academic research into innovation and co-founded a sustainability initiative.

Sophia holds a Ph.D. within synthetic biology from the Technical University of Denmark and conducted her research at internationally known research institutes and industry players such as Novozymes, the Joint BioEnergy institute in Berkeley, UNSW in Australia, the University of Oxford, and the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany.
